Politics in Wisconsin
Sep. 10th, 2012 01:37 pmI’m always surprised to see Wisconsin show up as borderline in electoral vote poll-tracking sites. Admittedly, I really only hang out in Madison (and, really, mostly in WisCon), but I always have an impression of it as a nice lefty haven of the American mid-west.

Date: 2012-09-10 07:45 pm (UTC)There's Madison and Milwaukee, and a couple of other liberal pockets.
But there are many other staunchly conservative pockets which have always been conservative.
The Republican Party was founded in Wisconsin.
We really are about 50/50 right now.
Much of the rest of the state looks at Madison with some disdain, for being "a liberal cesspool."
