So I'm still being horribly indecisive about giving up meat. In practice, I've stopped eating meat (except for fish) as of a week ago. I just seem to be wishy-washy about saying "I don't eat meat". I guess I figure that if I keep talking about it, I'll have investment in not eating meat, and it'll just sorta happen.

Stuff that's okay in my books: fish, eggs, dairy (although as I'm mildly lactose intolerant, I don't eat large amounts of dairy). I'm more torn about keeping the eggs than I am about the fish.

Stuff I expect to miss: souvlaki, ribs, and my favourite spaghetti recipe. And gyoza.

Well, you could always go 90% vegetarian, and still eat meat in things like gyoza where you really think you'd miss it. You're lucky living in Toronto - there are a couple of good, cheap vegan Oriental restaurants about, and probably a fair number of other veggie restaurants. In a lot of North America, it's nightmarish to be veggie - parts of the US are worst.

One of the best Vegetarian restaurants in the city is not too far away from where I work. I love their food.
