Spice is the Variety of Life
Aug. 19th, 2002 10:48 pmOne of the things that I love about the Kindred Spirits retreat is the food. We stay at a little inn in the small town of Hot Springs, North Carolina, and they serve the most mouthwatering vegetarian dishes that I've ever tasted.
But I didn't really get to taste them this year. Although I told them in advance that I couldn't have garlic or lime, they seemed to have forgotten, and I didn't get to eat most of the main dishes they served. By the third night, I was pretty disheartened. I watched my friends eating this wonderful nut paté baked in bread with a mushroom sauce. Me, I had a cold plate. The first night, dessert was key lime pie. That's pretty unambiguously on the "can't have" list.
I've been jonesing for pizza like you wouldn't believe. I even made my own pizza the other night, I'm craving it so much. I made sure that my pizza had no garlic in it. But I'm still craving.
It's thirteen days (including today) until my desann kolye. My whole project team is counting down the days with me.
