Bitten by the WanderGoth bug
Aug. 19th, 2002 01:19 amI just drove 14 hours back from North Carolina (I was supposed to have a driving partner for this trip, but she bailed on me at pretty much the eleventh hour).
I go to a spiritual retreat in North Carolina every August. I'm feeling amazingly refreshed and energized.

I love long drives; I'm getting too old for the 24-hour, home to Houston without letting the engine cool down, trips.

No, but...
Date: 2002-08-20 09:36 am (UTC)And it wasn't actually the 11th hour that I bailed on B.C. -- I decided to go
hiking on the Appalachian Trail before the conference, and finalized my plans
around 9:15 or so. B.C. just happened to be out of the country from hours 9
through 11. :-)
I'm really sad that the driving together thing didn't work, both from missing
out on 28 hours of Sue-and-B.C. time, and because the drive is amazingly pretty
(especially if we'd gone down Skyline Drive, as I did on the way there) and
it would have been wonderful to have someone to share it with.
I'd offer a rain check for next year, but I'm probably going to go hiking next
year as well. Care to come hiking?
