To Prove a Villain

Richard III was a bit of a whiner, don't you think? Because he can't get enough dates, he decides to destroy his family. Like that makes sense?

I went to Stratford this weekend. I saw Richard III and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Neither production really knocked my socks off, although Pimpernel was a good romp. I think I prefer Anthony Andrews' foppish Blakeney (in the 1982 made-for-TV movie) to the buffoon-ish portrayal in this production.

I've not been to Stratford since high school, not for lack of want but simply no chance (that and sian hated Stratford ;)) I hope you had fun even if it didn't blow your socks off. I find that stratford when good is great but for every great production they have three or four simply blah productions. Well hope you are feeling better and such and hope you had an enjoyable time out. :)
