In an article about the numerous security announcements yesterday, the Globe and Mail cited these stats recently provided to the cabinet security committee, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan. Most of these stats were gathered last fall, befor the Arar case was in full swing, but McLellan says that she doubts that the figures have budged much.

So what exactly is the explanation for the 32% who don't actually fear a terrorist attack at all, but still think that the government needs to take stronger action against one anyway?
