Monsters Among Us

My friend, Rosie, gave me a ticket to a Talk Cinema showing this morning. We got to see an advance screening of Monster with Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. It's an amazing (but sobering) film about Aileen Wuornos. I highly recommend it.

I googled Aileen Wuornos yesterday, then found the movie's website (http://www.monsterfilm.com/).
It looks like a really good film.
Just curious:
Do you think she acted in self-defense or was she a serial killer?

My best guess is that the truth lies somewhere in-between. The first man she killed had been jailed for several years for violent sexual assualt, so I think she really did act in self-defense, there.

There were also clients of hers at her trial who testified that she seemed very fearful that she was going to be assaulted.

I suspect that she acted in self defense for the first case, and after that, the combination of that assault and her childhood abuse caused her to go way overboard in the other cases.
