God, this is painful!

I have Jeff Dee in one of my circles on Google+. He's recently posted this bit about how the atheist community is all in a twitch because some people have raised a concern about sexual harassment at atheist conventions. Me, I'm like, "Dudes: this ground has been covered before. Why don't you seek out the notes of any of the other communities that have had this conversation?!?!?"

But no. They're going to stumble through all the painfully entry-level discussion points.

As far as I can tell, part of what is going on is that people who are raising the concern are saying "here, there are whole wikis on this, look at X, Y, Z" and the pro-harassment side is refusing to look and objecting to anyone talking about the issue." It's hard not to stumble through the 101 stuff when you're dealing with people who insist that the sun goes around the earth and what sort of troublemaker are you for talking about this when we could be debunking Bigfoot.
