The Toronto Cartoonists Workshop is doing a 7-week course on inking in January. I'm tempted to sign up, but I think it's overpriced. Their prices are pretty consistent -- I think all of the workshops are overpriced. But I'm considering it. Hm.
For comparison: classes at Toronto School of Art are about $400 for 12 weeks x 3 hours, max 16 students, often much fewer.
Classes at AGO are a little cheaper but more crowded.
Classes at OCADU continuing ed are about $400 for 6 weeks, IIRC.
So the cartoonist classes are fairly expensive for non-degree art classes. I'm not sure if it's fair to charge more for weirder (more specialized) topics.
I think their shtick is that they get known names in the comics world to teach the classes. I think that they hope that the Big Names will help people get over sticker shock.
