Labour Day in the City
Sep. 5th, 2011 12:27 pmEvery year I'm surprised, again, by how little mention is made of the Toronto Labour Day parade. I confess that I didn't know that it existed until I moved to Queen St., and it was passing by my building every year.
Many, many of the marchers were wearing black arm bands with Jack Layton's name on them.
The TTC had one of the old streetcars out.
A whole crowd of people went by with "Harper the Dictator" shirts.
They had steel drums playing "Take on me" by a-ha.
I got buttons!
