Less, but I live in the Bay Area, so I don't count.

Less. I grew up on US Naval bases, and now I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

mmm, less, but i only live thirty miles away. i grew up in a st paul suburb, and now live up the road in the grand metropolis of st. paul.

It would depend; I grew up in one suburb, New York City, 2 Army bases, upstate New York, and places in or near New York City. And Boston at some point, although I was too young to remember.

Less, but we're talking about the difference between a liberal suburb of Chicago and Philadelphia's Gayborhood (yes, this is its more or less official name). So different, but not drastically so. I wouldn't have to go too far to find conservative folks in either city, though.

It depends on how you define conservative: socially less conservative, economically moreso.

That's just a subset of change in the U.S. as a whole: the place I currently live is basically the place I grew up (different neighborhood, but the same city).

Well, i moved from rural Pennsylvania to Seattle's University District, sooo.... OH YEAH, way less conservative.

Um. Less. I grew up in an assortment of smallish towns in inland resource extraction country. Now I am in Seattle, an island of sanity in coastal resource extraction country.
