Would you put the metaphor "lame duck" in the same category as the pejorative "lame" from an ablist-language point-of-view?

I know people with disabilities who do.

For me, it always grates on my ears, but not enough to make a comment on it.

Like trouble, I know others who do. I don't know the origin of the term but I'd rather err on the side of not doing harm, therefore I don't use it. I don't think I'd call someone out on it at this time.

It feels different to me, partly because it doesn't carry the same connotations of "incompetent" or "bad." Maybe it's significant that the term is only used about privileged people? A "lame duck senator" is still a senator, and thus very powerful.
