I agreed to talk at another showing of Kevin Pina's film, Haiti: We Must Kill The Bandits. It was a good turn-out, and I met some really interesting people, including an amazing woman who started telling me about the tradition of Vodou and its relationship to Haiti's spirit of resistance.
I feel like I never do enough of these kinds of gigs. Even tonight -- it was rainy and miserable when I was due to head out there, and I was kinda resenting going. But I think it was one of my better talks. We had some good conversation, and good questions. I feel like I wasn't a mumbling idiot. I'm happy with how it turned out.
I need to do more of these gigs.
