If you ask me (but who ever does, really?) Hallmark is missing out on something for not having a line of "congratulations on your transition" cards!

well, i would have asked you, but it didn't occur to me!

now i feel inspired to make a whole line of cards hallmark wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.

My dad and I almost did this about ten years ago:

Congratulations on your divorce!

Have a nice life. I won't miss you.

Condolences on your ex's new marriage.

Things like that. I wish I remembered some of the really good ones.

I wouldn't claim that they're on the vanguard, but Hallmark does print same-sex marriage cards. I'm inclined to believe that they are an unsung force for progressive legitimacy and honoring the diversity of life's events. They don't move as quickly as I might hope, but at the same time I think they have more than their share of scars because

And the first card here reads like "Congratulations on your transition". I think I'd buy it rather than a blank card.

That card does work rather well. It's even got a rainbow, so it could also be a coming-out card.

disappointingly, my favorite e-card site (http://www.someecards.com) doesn't have one either - even among the user-created cards!
