I guess my question is: how long can he keep on doing this? I mean can he reconvene and then immediately prorogue Parliament again? I apologize if that sounds like a silly question but if Harper has the ear of the GG, how long can he keep the dogs at bay?
Essentially, he can present the sort of budget that all the parties would want to see on Jan 26th and if it meets all of their guidelines they really cannot justify a non-confidence vote at that point. They can try, but he only needs 12 people from the Non-Con sides of the pool in order to pass the budget and after the way Stephane DiDONE handled himself today there are already cracks forming in the Coalition. Michael Ignatief has already made a comment that he does not feel the coalition is a good plan AND there are already some serious outcries from today alone in the Liberal Party for Stephane Dion to step down immediately rather than remain until May specifically because of the three coalition members he actually backtracked and said if Mr Harper could make some monumental changes then "we" would allow him to stay the course while the other two were calling for Harper's cojones on a stick.
Alternatively, he can screw up, they can come back and he can have the GG dissolve Parliament and call an election at which point we all get to work our asses off getting Liberals and NDPers out to vote.
