I remember.

I find myself particularly thinking about Duanna Johnson, "mysteriously" shot to death just a few weeks ago.

Did you notice they'd arrested one of the ex-cops she'd accused? I'm shocked, utterly shocked. I mean, police officers, treating trans people badly? That never happens!

For the original assault, yes. Still, it's pretty out-of-this-world, especially for Memphis, I'm given to understand.

I can't read the linked entry, because I'm not a member of the community, but are you referring to Memphis, Tennessee? I gather that Memphis is generally not that bad, though it's not as queer-friendly as Atlanta (which is viewed as something of the gay capital of the south). I'll have to ask Eric about that - he grew up there.

New York, I think. She and her brother were going to a party, and when they arrived, were greeted with anti-queer and anti-trans abuse. One of the people dishing out the verbal abuse went into the house, came out with a rifle, and fired a shot into the car. It went through the arm of her brother, and ended up in her chest - she died in the car.
