There are a few differences in the script. In the US version, Sam and Maya have a conversation about their relationship in the car as they're travelling to arrest Colin Raimes. In the UK version, we don't learn about their relationship until after Colin is interviewed.

The first scene with Annie happens earlier in the US version. In the UK version, it doesn't happen until after the scene at the morgue.

The US version omits the character of Neil (Annie's ex-boyfriend) and, as a result, the UK ending where Sam considers jumping off of the building to return to 2006. In the US version, there's a scene that fills the same purpose in which Sam is held at gunpoint by the killer in 1973, and the killer says things that makes Sam think that if he gets shot in 1973, he'll return to 2008.

The US version also has a different moral quandary at the end. Rather than have Sam discover the killer's psych papers (and ultimately decide to destroy them), in the US version, Sam considers killing young Colin to prevent him growing up into a killer. Also, in the US version, it's fairly clearly established that Colin is the killer in 2008.

The US version is more than 15 minutes shorter than the UK version, so a few of the less-important scenes are excluded from the US version. Some editing is tightened (but one area that's badly affected is the beautiful 360 degree shot when Sam first wakes up in 1973).

Also, I was waiting for Harvey Keitel to tell the little kids that if anything happens to his car he was going to come over to their house and stomp on all their toys. But it never came.

Also, the US version highlights the World Trade Centre (just completed in 1973).
