I watched the new Life on Mars. It's interesting how many scenes are shot-for-shot remakes of the original.

Did the original have the same sort of music in the background?

The US version gives me more of a sense of time and place.

The bigger budget maybe.

Some of the key music -- both "Life on Mars" and "Baba O'Riley" ("Teenage Wasteland") -- are used in exactly the same scenes as the original.

I'll be interested to see what they do when they get to episode 9 or 17 when they need to come up with new material. And Harvey Keitel *has* to be better than Colm Meaney.

I haven't. I hafta confess that the title squicks me. Haiti didn't choose to be destabilized by foreign powers.
