Quebec provincial police admitted Thursday that three of their officers disguised themselves as demonstrators during the protest at the North American leaders summit in Montebello, Que.

However, the police force denied allegations its undercover officers were there on Monday to provoke the crowd and instigate violence.

From the article:

Police said the three were told to monitor protesters who were not peacefully demonstrating to prevent any violent incidents, but they were called out as undercover agents when they refused to throw objects.

Yes, because as we clearly saw that was exactly what happened. You know those good-for-nothin' protesters are always lying and ready to destroy property and start a riot chief!

Yeah...those cameras showing the SQ infiltrators with rocks in hand ready to throw. They only refused to throw them, or act as agents provocateurs, because they got caught first. That's why, after confronted by the CEP official, they walked over to the SQ and "surrendered" peacefully. I wonder how that conversation went.

"We've been made because we were the only ones who wanted to get violent!"

"Okay, well, we'll make it look good for the cameras here, cuff you and lead you away, then figure out how we're going to spin this if we get called out."

Protestors have been accusing police of using this tactic for years...it's good to see someone finally get busted for it. Not that it'll change anything, of course. It's still a winning strategy. If nobody's causing trouble, then trouble must be instigated...so that the batons and pepper spray can be brought out. After all, the folks at home need to see what happens when you go to protests.
