hello! you're not drowned! the weather here in wisconsin and minnesota is all full of wet right now, so since i have been to madison and back this weekend i have been watching a lot of the weather channel and the thing i saw that wasn't local weather was hurricane dean, which looks like it is currently being no fun for haiti but you haven't been mentioning it and the weather channel has just been talking about vacation destinations mostly because really who cares about haiti and no one goes there on vacation except for you and yaaaay you're not drowned!
I'm not drowned. Certainly, some time in the middle of last week, we started hearing about Hurricane Dean, and there was some anxious worry that maybe it'd hit Pòtoprenz this weekend. By Friday, we were pretty sure that it was going to clip the southern part of Haiti (near Jakmel and Okay) but it probably wouldn't hit Pòtoprenz properly.
I left Haiti yesterday mid-afternoon and didn't even see rain, but the airline people were all in a tizzy because everyone who was supposed to fly on Sunday decided to show up a day early to miss any fall-out bad weather. My flight out was three hours late, but I'm used to that particular flight being late, and I gave myself a lot of time to reach my connection to Toronto. (Did I mention that I hate Miami International Airport; it has the suck).
I haven't heard anything from the other delegates, all of whom were sposed to leave after me.
