Wah. No more Life on Mars.

I was starting to feel like we hadn't had enough of the Test Card F girl this season. Glad to see her in the finale.

I love the visual references to the first episode. The scene on the roof, with the camera rotating around him is so much like the "awakening in 1973 scene" from the pilot. The "definitive steps" echo the same scene in the pilot. The use of the Bowie tune, "Life on Mars" during that scene also mirror its use in the pilot.

Finally, in the last scene, as the car speeds away, we get that sideways, camera-lying-on-its-side shot that's like Sam's accident scene after he's hit by the car.

I would have liked to see Sam try to resolve elements of the storyline in 2006. What happened to Maya, for example? Did he really save her?

I loved Life On Mars. I've left the TiVo instructions to pick up the whole mess if it ever gets rebroadcast where I can get it.
