Anyone know if there's a Java API that lets me set additional information on Mac files? In particular, I'd like to set an icon for a file that I'm writing out.

Ooo. this tutorial looks promising. When I add Cocoa to my Eclipse workspace, I find a cool class called NSFileWrapper with a setIcon method. Now all I hafta do is find the a-ha moment of NSImage...

Garr. It refuses to obey my commands. And all Google searches that I see suggest that other people have the same problem with setIcon(). And that the Java-Cocoa API is deprecated. Blah.

I keep thinking about this, and realizing I have a vague idea of how to do it. In Pascal. On System 6 or something like that.

Which is not really helpful.
