Of course, I have to question anyone at NASA calling it "the worst damage we have ever seen" with regards to the insulating foam on the external tank. Perhaps the worst pre-flight, but the worst?

Well, at least they're paying attention to that foam now. Too bad it took seven people dying for them to do so. NASA, under this administration, has been horribly administered. The only things they care about are a) missiles that can hit other missiles and b) getting a base on the Moon before the Chinese pull it off.

NASA is a civilian agency, not involved in missile defense. That's more the Air Force, and ARPA I think.
