Creepy

Yesterday, I caught a bit of a CBC report about "extraordinary rendition" and the Khaled Masri case. During the show, there were several clips of a discussion with Michael Scheuer, who would say things like, "well, our rendition programme protects the United States, and if some people in Germany don't like that, well I don't really give a damn what they think." It was exceedingly creepy. But, I guess, this is the way a lot of people (especially in the intelligence community) think.

Well, the US government has made it abundantly clear over the last five years that they don't care about what "Old Europe" thinks about any of this. I'd say this is more of a systemic issue with the Bush Administration than it is with the intel community.
