The Value of Things
Jan. 14th, 2007 09:41 amI had an incredibly unsuccessful book excursion yesterday. Popped down to The World's Biggest Bookstore (that's its name; I don't think it's really the world's biggest bookstore. In particular, I think Powell's in Portland is bigger) and I couldn't find books in any of the categories I was looking for.
But, as an impulse purchase, I picked up a copy of China Miéville's The Iron Council. Hardback. $3.99. Quite the bargain, I thought. Then I popped over to HMV. HMV was selling Serenity for $5.99. Hmph.

Date: 2007-01-15 08:07 am (UTC)I really need to get back to TO soon. But the damned passport requirement is the problem. I hate Bush. Requiring me to have a passport to get back into the US? And then asking me to pay $200 for that passport? What the hell???
