I had an incredibly unsuccessful book excursion yesterday. Popped down to The World's Biggest Bookstore (that's its name; I don't think it's really the world's biggest bookstore. In particular, I think Powell's in Portland is bigger) and I couldn't find books in any of the categories I was looking for.

But, as an impulse purchase, I picked up a copy of China Miéville's The Iron Council. Hardback. $3.99. Quite the bargain, I thought. Then I popped over to HMV. HMV was selling Serenity for $5.99. Hmph.

Can you believe that I'd forgotten the name of World's Biggest when I was thinking about it a couple of weeks ago? I was picturing the inside of the store in my mind, and the exterior, and the neighbourhood, and thinking about how it's right by the north end of Eatons Centre. But the name just wouldn't come.

I really need to get back to TO soon. But the damned passport requirement is the problem. I hate Bush. Requiring me to have a passport to get back into the US? And then asking me to pay $200 for that passport? What the hell???
