The Other Election

It's kinda interesting that I've been following the U.S. midterm election more intently than the Toronto Municipal election (voting on Monday). It occurred to me that this will be the first mayoral election in quite some time without Ben Kerr on the ballot.

What a character.

We once had Rosie The Clown run in our riding in a federal election. She got more votes than the fellow who was our city councillor at the time running for Paul Hellyer's Canadian Action Party. She was funny, and her platform was basically to encourage people to vote. He was starting to become wacko, but not in an entertaining way.

I was wondering why I'd never seen him outside of the Bay until I'd read that he would perform outside of the Yonge and Bloor Bay, and the one I was always at was the Yonge and Queen store.
