Doodling as I'm Noodling
Sep. 5th, 2002 09:59 pmI've been thinking of drawing comics again. I'd like to figure out better ways of manipulating the images. Using greyscale colouring, and all that. Must do some Paint Shop experiments.

I'm torn somewhat about whether or not I want to manually shade, or if I want to try my hand at greyscale colouring. I love the way Alison Bechdel manages wonderful types of shading using various line and cross-hatch patterns. Maybe I'm reaching for the moon. On the topic of Alison Bechdel, yes, this particular picture is intentionally drawn with "Mo" clothes.
Also, drawing figures is easy for me. I suck at filling in backgrounds with stuff. Also, lettering is hard. Either I find an easy way to letter the actual physical copy, or I should start composing the whole frame, print it out, and then re-scan the total picture. See how that works. Aargh! This is s'posed to be a hobby.
