Ever have those moments where you suddenly snap out of it and you realize that you were kinda going on autopilot, but the autopilot system was failing 'cause you were just about to put the hair conditioner into the fridge?
I'm trying to think of situations where I spotted it while it was happening. I'm sure there must have been some, but I can't think of any offhand.
I have lots of examples of discovering later that neurons must have ben misfiring pretty badly. I've always done that. I remember in high-school, I was doing math homework, had a sandwich, and then continued with the homework only to discover that the HP calculator (remember those?) was gone. I looked everywhere, but it was plain gone. I noted that I'd left the butter on a desk, took it to the fridge, and - surprise - there was the calculator where the butter was supposed to be.
