I love the original, despite having serious reservations about the underlying message, and I've been looking forward to the remake: I think Nicolas Cage is a fine choice, and Ellen Burstyn is not only a fine choice but a good way to get around the fact that Christopher Lee's shoes are hard to fill.
I have to say it looks more graphically violent than I generally like, but I do expect to go see it.
Don't be too quick to look forward to it. We're the ones that get trashed in the remake, not the Christian Cop, if rumours hold true about the script changes from the original.
I wonder if they're going to have that song in it. I found the original unspeakably dull except for that one song, which I knew I'd heard before but couldn't place it. I eventually found that it's on a CD we own. I can't for the life of me remember which now.
