Blast from the Past

On my bed, I have a stuffed animal. A leopard. His name is Larry, and I've had him since 1984. He was named after Larry Gowan (because he's a Strange Animal, see). Gowan was a Canadian musician, and he had a blip of popularity in the mid-eighties. I saw Gowan in concert twice at the Ontario Place Forum (before the Ampitheatre was built) in 1986/1987.

After epi_lj posted a link to a bunch of 80s music videos, I was possessed to hunt out this "Criminal Mind" video.

Eee! A bunch of us were just talking about Gowan in my gf's journal last week. ;) I saw Gowan at Kingswood Music Theatre with The Spoons way back in the day.

My high school English teacher swore that he played with Gowan for a while. I've never been able to verify this claim, but can't bring myself to doubt him. :)

You know, I'd forgotten how much I used to like that video. :) It's got kind of a mixed message, it seems. And then... the vest-shoulders-thingy!
