I've read poker books that would conclude that you lost all your money AND you didn't get a good night's sleep like the people who lost earlier. Was it a good learning experience?
Actually, the way the tournament was structured, I finished "in the money", and got 25% of the total buy-in (it was 50%, 25%, 15% and 10% pay-outs). I basically quadrupled my initial investment (there were only about 17 of us).
And I learned more about areas that I'm really weak. When it got to heads-up game, for example, I was terrible. I was well ahead at that point, but so much of my game before that was based on picking and choosing my battles, that I was really thrown off by feeling like I had to play every hand.
Good Result

So, yeah, it was a great learning experience.
