I have four different currencies in my wallet. Canadian dollars, American dollars, Euros and Haitian Gourdes.

When I was growing up in Sarnia, it was normal to have both Canadian and American money in my wallet.

I get tourists from Canada visiting the brewery (Frankenmuth, Mi.) who don't realize that it's perfectly acceptable to use Canadian change in Michigan.

for some reason i think it's awesome that they are called gourdes.

might have to do with the fact that i associate that word with my dad buying this painted gourd in mexico and singing really intensely lame songs about it :)

it's a very pretty gourd, silly songs notwithstanding.
