So, I was looking up a coupl'a poems from the movie, In Her Shoes. I did a Google search on "the art of losing", and found Elizabeth Bishop's poem, "One Art". But I noticed this in the Google sidebar:

Clearly, someone wants people to read the poem, because they've paid for a Google ad.

But when I went to this page to read the poem, I found this interesting copyright notice at the bottom:

What do they think happens when I click on a link?

Is it a misunderstanding of what the word 'download' means? Some people seem to think that an item (picture, sound, video, block of text, etc.) is not 'downloaded' if you're just looking at it in your web browser.

Alternately, it's just butt-covering, in the sense of 'it's not illegal for us to put it up here on this website, but it is illegal for you to read it here'.
