An Earlier Generation
Sep. 29th, 2020 05:28 pmMy great-aunt passed away today. I heard yesterday that she was ill and in palliative care. She was my grandmother's youngest sister, and that last of my grandmother's siblings (including their spouses).
I can't say that I really knew her. I haven't seen her in probably 35 years, and by all accounts her dementia was pretty bad for a long time. But I track the family genealogy, so I get all the family updates.
My (late) grandfather has a brother (Uncle Jerry), who is now the last of that generation of relatives. He's getting on in years, but seems to be in good health. But when he passes, that generation will be gone.
