I can't think of much else it can be. I mean, as pointed out in the article, Mme. Jean's certainly not alone in being a high figure involved in old-fashioned FUN. I wish I could even say it's all about sour grapes from disgruntled Pequistes, but it's not just them doing it.

Me, I think it blows chunks. I think she's a WONDERFUL choice for G-G.

it would surprise me if it was that she's black. she's very outspoken, that's my guess. that was a concern of certain people from the start.

rioux is having an idiotic moment, no doubt about it. politicians all over the world tell jokes, and it doesn't constitute an affaire d'état by any stretch of the imagination, as long as it's not done in an inappropriate context.

i guess canadian PMs and MPs should no longer participate in this hour has 22 minutes either, because joking about serious matters of state is just such a faux-pas?

wells bringing up bush as somebody to whose humour to compare MJ's is particularly lame though. he should have picked somebody more respected, and it wouldn't be hard.
