Sonny and Sharia

While we have been focused on the heart-rending news about the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, our neighbors to the north have been going bonkers. Not that we'd notice what they are doing up there even if there wasn't a tragedy. But the craziness that was unfolding in Canada last week merits comment simply because it was so outrageous.

I think it's just that USians are getting increasingly jealous of Canadians (I would...) so they've got to try to make themselves feel better for not already having emigrated somehow.

It took me a long time to figure out whether she was for or against Ontario's decision. I really wasn't sure until the last paragraph. Was she bashing us for taking as long as we did to come down against it, or what? Her writing is sloppy and ambiguous, and more about sounding "edgy" than about getting information across.
