Themes of BSG

Okay, Battlestar Galactica:

I've just read that there's a different theme for BSG in Canada than in the US. Here's the alleged Canadian theme and the American theme.

I feel certain that I've heard that oboe (?) in the US theme, but the later drum sequence in the Canadian theme sounds more familiar to me.

I wish we got the UK theme... haunting vocals; very pretty. Why didn't they stick with that in North America?

Or the Stu Phillips theme, of course, but it was neat of them to make it the National Anthem of the Twelve Colonies.

Hold the phone -- I just listened to the alleged Canadian theme, and it is the UK one. That isn't what I've been hearing on Space's broadcasts, though -- I've been hearing the US one.

I had to read that first paragraph again after reading the second one, in order to parse "theme" as "theme song".

See, I thought the Canadian theme would be something like "Co-operation is good" and the US theme would be "Manifest Destiny".
