So, I've run into three different sites in the last few weeks that have managed to pop-up ads at me, even though I use firefox with no pop-up tolerance.
LOL... i finished reading this post, minimized my firefox browser, and discovered a pop-up ad!!!! i'm not going to be a happy camper if this becomes a regular thing.
that always pisses me off so much. And I will never understand it, because forcing your ads on people who specifically are trying to avoid them seems like a complete waste of your advertising dollars. Explaining this to actual marketing guys seems fruitless, though.
I've been observing the same thing too over the weekend. Guess the downside of Firefox being popular is that marketers are going to start targetting it.
A day or two after Firefox was released the Strong Bad E-mail at http://homestarrunner.com/sbemail118.html had a pop-up ad that circumvented my blocker, so it's almost surprising that it took the commercial world three and a half months to catch up.
