BTW, at first thought, without consider all legitimate possibilities that got neglected (*how* were there no women in the top 10???), Tommy Douglas is a really good choice.
Name one woman who did more than, say, Lester B., who didn't even make it to the top 3.
No offense to women, I am one and I love all of us, but I see all humans as equals and judge us on our accomplishments and our merits. We just haven't come onto our own in Canada, yet, and we have to work harder to do so.
I was pleased Tommy Douglas won. In fact, I was pleased with the top three (Terry Fox and Trudeau).
I kept having the horrible feeling it would end up being Don Cherry.
Apparently, they tried to do this in South Africa (not sure where I read this information) and had to cancel the show because the nominees were people like the guy who invented apartheid and others of a similar moral persuasion.
