i don't have a real problem with her stance on abortion -- if one actually believes that abortion kills a human child, and that that is equivalent to murder, well, then laws that permit abortion must look horrible to such people. i can empathize with that.
however, those opinions of people like gallant usually come accompanied by this sort of dreck:
On Saturday, the Ottawa-area MP said she thinks Canada's newly amended hate law -- which added "sexual orientation" to the list of groups protected from hate propaganda -- should be changed back.
"The danger in having sexual orientation just listed, that encompasses, for example, pedophiles," Gallant said. "I believe that the caucus as a whole would like to see it repealed."
right. let's just ignore that most pedophiles are heterosexual, and persist instead on linking them with homosexuality.
i am scared about the latest polls. i sure hope canadians know better than to elect these sorts of people as the governing party.
