Where was your conscience? Where was your consciousness?

Two stories this morning have me hating all of humanity. First, the Conservatives' new announcement about funding and abortion. Second, the story of a man mugged on the subway while others looked on and did nothing. ("Do you understand? Some of them even watched.")

I'm reminded of something that June Callwood once said: "if you see an injustice being committed you are not an observer, you are a participant."
