Thoughts I'm Chewing on From WisCon
May. 29th, 2003 10:39 pm"The right measures a society by how high the people in it can rise; the left by how far they can fall."
"I think of pastoral spaces as representing the numinous and urban spaces as representing the ominous."
"The episteme is changing and asking for definitions is part of the old episteme."
"Forced Elmo-ization."
Fnords. (Yes, I read The Illuminatus Trilogy when I was seventeen, and I've always know about the fnords. But I'd always thought of them as an amusing little over-the-top conspiracy-theory decoration, rather than as a metonym for paradigmism. Thank you D.)

I found your journal because I suddenly realized "secret feminist cabal" should be an interest of the Wiscon community, and was surprised to find it underlined already. Hiya!
I'm really wrestling with that first thought, at first I disagreed strongly with it, but now I see a way in which it's correct. I might rephrase it as "The right measures a society by how high its elite can rise, the left by how much it can be leveled."

I find it interesting to watch items on my interest suddenly get underlined.
Thanks for the pointer to the WisCon community. I've joined! I've joined!
