Does the word "solidarity" come up in your life very often? What does solidarity mean to you? What does it mean, in your mind, to be "in solidarity" with a group?

I usually see it being used to refer to people refusing (a) privilege to show support for those who don't enjoy that privilege. For example the trend currently of mixed-sex couples not marrying because same-sex couples cannot.

It does, because I'm a union member. We sometimes strike in solidarity with other unions. To me, it means I'm not part of the group in question, but I stand beside them, support their struggle, and help in it if I can.
