Link following from Body Impolitic got me to Big Beautiful Wonder Woman blog. I like all the different takes on Wonder Woman, although I think I prefer the images of WW doing traditional super-action, rather than the ones showing her eating (fat people eat all the time, doncha know).

This image got me thinking. We've seen so many pastiches of the Silver Age legends -- Squadron Supreme, Astro City, Planetary -- stories that try to rethink the Silver Age with modern sensibilities. I wonder if anyone's tried to reimagine the Silver Age in a more racially diverse way?

There was a one shot comic book back in 1999 "Legends of the DCU: Crisis on Infinite Earths #1". It was the Silver Age Justice League heroes re-imagined as a racially diverse group. This alternate earth wasnt seen again after this one shot issue but it was quite popular. I loved it, Ive read my original copy over and over. Last month this Earth made a brief appearance in "Final Crisis" and it warmed my heart. Maybe they will make a comeback.

Link to a website that will give you a nice overview of the "Earth D"

Would you believe that in the storyline that cover's from, she renounced her powers and learns some form of martial arts, so she can travel around and right wrongs? It lasted about a year before she changed back.

With that cover, I'd believe it if she was shagging Jerry Cornelius (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Cornelius) and foiling the diabolical plots of Bishop Beesly and Miss Brunner.
