Edit: I think that this comment is important, and I regret not respecting her wishes: "I don't want to be considered a hero. Imagine young people would grow up with the feeling that you have to be a hero to do your human duty. I am afraid nobody would ever help other people, because who is a hero? I was not. I was just an ordinary housewife and secretary."
So, um.
Tonight was a Toronto Haiti Action Committee meeting. The moment I walked in the room, my colleague was on the phone with various news agencies. People are looking for folks who can talk about Haiti. So I left immediately to meet a camera crew in front of the Haitian Consulate office.
It's three hours later, and I've been interviewed on the street by CP24, CityTV, and CBC. I spoke to a person at the news desk of the Sun. And I went down to the CP24 station to be interviewed live.
Zowie. What a night.
