Nov. 16th, 2005 06:57 amAndré Boisclair has won the Parti Québécois leadership race. Unless things turn around in a hurry for the Quebec Liberals, he's likely to be the next premier of Quebec, too.
Boisclair is an openly gay man, and his admission that he once used cocaine was widely-reported. Some reporters speculated that his openness about such things made him seem honest and down-to-earth, compared to politicians who recite canned speeches and trot out talking points. Boisclair won the leadership on the first ballot.
