Wow, Sikhs in favor of same-sex marriage. Color me previously uninformed. The voices from Christianity don't surprise me though -- Presbyterians, Disciples, and the UCC have been out there for quite a while now in my experience.

I think one of the well-kept secrets of the world is that not even the religious right is not uniformly opposed to gay marriage. There are members and even congregations that I've heard say that it's not quite sporting to condemn gayness as a hedonistic lifestyle when you don't give same-sex couples the opportunity to "settle down". Of course, we can all look forward to thirty years from now when the fundimentalist churches decry the amount of gay sex that's happening outside the God-honored institution of gay marriage.

Best. Prediction. Ever.

I wouldn't even bet against you at 50:1 odds.
