One of the things that I always notice in John M. Ford's work is his "talking around a thing". Hurm. I don't know if I can coerse that into something comprehensible.
Like the whole relationship with the guy from the Earth government in Growing Up Weightless. All the stuff that's implied in that relationship, but never said directly.
I can't figure out if I should be thrilled at my new-found fame or indignant at the implication that anyone might think that anything is better than Respectful of Otters. Help!
Whoever said it was a Heinlein juvie had it right (said the man who's never read a Heinlein juvie).
I had a blast reading Red Thunder. I didn't take it seriously, but it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon - and it made me wish I knew a 14 year-old who was into Science Fiction.
It also made me wish he would get off his ass and write more of his 8 Worlds series.
