Comix!

So I went to the comic book store today for the first time in almost two months. Picked up a big stack o' comix. Strangers in Paradise, The Filth (weird book), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Pro and some other indie titles. And JSA, my own particular eye candy.

I just read Four Women by Sam Kieth. God, what a story. I don't know how to say anything more about it than that. God. What a story.

I LOVE the League books!!! They're AWESOMELY drawn!

Yes, you can probably tell I really like them.

Let me know about the others. I'm always looking for new comic books series to read.

I'll add you first thing in the morning, by the way. Sorry about that.

Have you read Zero Girl by Keith? If so, how would you compare the two? Are they on the same wavelength? I generally liked Zero Girl, so I've been thinking of picking this one up as well.

I also heard that he's doing a Zero Girl sequel, which seems a little odd to me. But maybe it'll work.

Zero-Girl and Four Women

I've read Zero Girl, and quite liked it. There was a certain dark fable quality to it that really appealed to me. "Circles are good. Squares are bad."

Four Women is nothing like Zero Girl. There's no fantasy element to it; it takes place in the "real" world. And it's very intense. I really recommend it.

Thanks for the tip. I also liked the fantasy elements of Zero Girl, but the idea of something a little more grounded appeals to me as well. I've been enjoying "real people"/"slice of life" sort of comics a lot recently. So I'll probably check this one out.
