Dopes for Leaders

As reported in the National Post:

C.F.B. GAGETOWN, N.B. -- Paul Martin rewrote Canadian military history yesterday when he said twice that the liberation of Europe began in 1944 with the invasion of Norway. He meant to say the invasion of Normandy.

"Sixty years ago, Canadians were working alongside their British and American allies planning for the invasion of Norway and the liberation of Europe," Mr. Martin said in a speech to 350 soldiers at this training base outside Fredericton.

Analysts have said for a while that Martin was trying to get closer to George Bush than the Cretien government was. He's looking kinda close to Bush in my eyes.

he may be close on the dumber than a box of rocks front, however, i think he's got a ways to go on the pure freshly decanted evil front.

i don't get excited about what i consider "speakos"; they happen to everyone, and i am only glad i don't have to do frequent public speaking.

when he dons a flight suit and parades on the deck of an aircraft carrier as if he had any right to that uniform, that's when i am gonna get worried. (come to think of it, i know nothing of martin's military service, and before spouting off, should investigate that).
